If you've got the Xbox 360 Red Rings of Death then your system is telling you that a general hardware failure has just occurred. Repairing your 360 is fairly easy, so it shouldn't cause you any worry as to how you will get the Xbox 360 red lights repaired. Many people will often say 'Just send it in to Microsoft' but this is problematic as explained here. It is actually recommended that you fix your console yourself. Doing it yourself you are guaranteed a permanent way to repair your console, your system can be repaired the very day you make the repair, and it's not going to cost you an arm and a leg to get your console fixed. Otherwise if you were to trust Microsoft it's going to be anywhere from 1 to 6 weeks for you to see your system again, sometimes months. It's going to cost over $140 to send it in if you're not under warranty. And Microsoft doesn't even have a permanent repair. So sending your console to them is pointless from the get-go.
Once I discovered what was really going with Microsoft and their 'Repair Methods' I opted for an alternative solution. I found a series of Xbox 360 repair guides that offered to me how to 'properly' repair the red ring of death. I took a plunge with these guides as nothing else seemed to offer permanent results and I was more than surprised with the results I did get. Inside of the Xbox 360 Red Light Fix Pro Repair Guide (the repair guide I used) I was given step-by-step video and written tutorials guiding me through everything that I needed to know to repair my console. After watching the videos and reading the repair manual I realized the cause behind the RROD and how this repair method might actually be able to repair it. So I wen't ahead and made the repair to my console.

Once the GPU and CPU were fixed I then had to make a small adjustment to the Heat Sinks which are used to absorb and filter out heat from reaching and affecting the GPU and CPU. The problem here is that the Heat Sinks were placed on the motherboard poorly so they don't protect the GPU and CPU and eventually the GPU and CPU overheat and that causes the RROD. So what I had to do was remove the old X-Clamps which held the Heat Sinks down and re-apply a better way of holding the Heat Sinks in place. This was done with a specific set of washers and screws. After this the repair was finished. I don't remember how long it took my but it was really fast. After I was finished I plugged everything in and turned my console on and it worked! Haven't had any problems since making that repair which was like 5 months or so ago.
Be sure that you seriously consider using one of these Xbox 360 repair guides
as they will permanently solve the RROD for good. Again I would highly advise the use of the Xbox 360 Red Light Fix Pro Gamer Edition as your guide of choice as that is the same guide that I used I definitely got good results.
