Back in November of 2005 the highly awaited sequel to the Xbox gaming system, The Xbox 360 was released from Microsoft. Since the Xbox 360's release date many users started to have some problems with the console overheating as well as some serious hardware malfunctions. Out of all of the issues, the one that has been found to be the most common, was a specific error that dealt with three red lights that replaced the green lights on the on and off button. When Microsoft finally acknowledged the malfunctions with their 360, they released a statement indicating that the 360's failure rate is between three and five percent. Microsoft considers these percentages to be "well within industry standards". Since retailers believed the failure rate was much higher, a poll was started to test the accuracy of Microsoft's statement. It was finally realized after the poll, that the 360 upon it's release date was one of the least reliable systems (in terms of hardware failure) to date. The difficulties with the 360 grew and became such a frequent problem that Microsoft began refunding, repairing, and extending the warranties to one full year.
